What is the most effective way to remove it?
The most effective way to remove a mound anthill, is to use a small rake and apply insecticide on the ant hill. You should also use water to keep the insecticide powder in place.
If we have anthills that are not mounds, we should spray the entire grass with a good amount of water, this will prevent the ants from continuing in our garden.
Other forms:
There are much less practical ways, but that will have the same result, such as:
- ant bait: the baits and the traps for ants they are fantastic for this type of pests, the ants will take the bait thinking it is food and when they return to the anthill most of them will end up dying.
- soapy water: Use any type of old dish soap for this method, although Borax is one of the best. We mix soap and water and the liquid will drown the colony.
- Diatomaceous earth: It is a substance that scratches and dehydrates ants, which will cause them to clear their anthill due to lack of food.
We should never use coffee grains, salt either baby powder, those "natural remedies" do not work against them, and will give them much more food or reasons to stay.
