The first step to sync a DualShock 4 with a PS4 is to get a USB Cable, since wireless-only synchronization via Bluetooth not possible on PlayStation 4. Luckily, every DualShock 4 comes with a built-in cable, although any USB 2.0 Micro-B cable will serve. With the controller connected to the PS4 via the USB cable, you can now turn on the console; The controller will automatically connect to the PS4 via the cable, although now it will be necessary to start synchronization. For it, press the PlayStation button located in the center of the PS4 controller to turn it on to access the login screen to choose a player account associated with that DualShock 4.

In this case, connect the controller to the console and wait a few hours for the full battery to charge with the console on; You can also play with the wired controller to charge the battery. And if you don't want or can't charge the controller's battery with the console, you can also connect the wired controller to a USB port on another powered device such as a television or computer.
While the PS4 controller battery is charging, the light turns yellow; If the controller is connected to the console and does not charge, there may be some other problem, whether it be a faulty cable or a problem with the controller.
Make PS4 forget about DualShock 4
If the connection problems persist and have nothing to do with powering the controller via USB cable, it is possible that there is some type of controller configuration problem on PS4; Therefore, it is recommended restart both the controller and the console to resynchronize them. To do this, if you have a controller that still works, go to Settings of PS4 through the main menu of the console by accessing the suitcase-shaped icon.
Once there, scroll to Devices and then choose Bluetooth; In this menu, all the connected controllers will appear along with any other Bluetooth devices that you may have connected to your PS4. Select the controller you want to reset and press the X button.
Now press the button Options of the controller to open the context menu and select the option Forget device, in order to unlink said controller from the console. Once you have completed the process, reconnect the controller to the console via USB cable to pair again.
Forced restart of DualShock 4
If the previous solution does not work, it is possible that the problem lies in the controller software and not its connection to the console. Therefore, and at this point, it is advisable to carry out a Forced restart DualShock 4. To do this, you will need a clip deployed or a similar thin, sturdy object to press a small button hidden in a hole on the back of the controller to reset it.
Before turn off your PS4 and unplug it from the electrical current and also turn off the internet router to which you usually connect so that the controller does not receive any known network signal when it restarts. Now, look for said hole in the control and press the small hidden button with the paper clip (or similar object) for about 5 seconds, although to be safe we recommend waiting until 10 seconds.
When you're done, reconnect your console and router; I turn on the PS4 and connect the controller via the USB cable to start synchronization as if it were new from the factory. If this method doesn't work either, there may be some kind of problem with the controller or it may have broken down.
