It may seem a little difficult to keep your windows clean, but with these tips you will be able to clean the glass in a simple and long-lasting way.

How do I remove the most stubborn stains?

Windows that are exposed to the outside are usually the most prone to difficult stains, because they are highly exposed to water currents, minerals or even bird droppings. Luckily there are some foolproof methods to remove marks left:

  • Dampen a sponge with a cleaner that works for removal of mineral deposits, rub any stains from the window and rinse the area with water. 
  • Spray the affected area with pure vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes. Rub with a sponge afterwards.
  • Rougher stains such as dried droppings or hardened dirt can be removed using a razor blade carefully.

Humidity can cause a small layer of lime to form on our windows.

If we have the possibility, to clean the internal windows and external we will have to remove them. A very good way to remove dust is to use a small vacuum cleaner to suck it up. To clean the rest you should use a hose or spray bottle with water and lightly spray it out the window.

Then with a clean cloth either sponge we rub with warm water mixed with a splash of vinegar either Dishes soap. When finished we let them air dry.

If the windows cannot be removed, you can use the same mixture but with a squeegee, and rub from the inside very carefully.

If you want to save yourself the use of chemicals on your windows, you can use some homemade cleaners. There are many ways to clean your windows well without having to go to the supermarket. For example:

  • Use a bucket of water with 6 ml of dishwashing liquid. 
  • Mix 2 cups of vinegar and water.
  • Wear isopropyl alcohol, vinegar, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 2 cups of water.
