Weapons

The first detail we should know about weapons in Zelda Breath of the Wild is that all weapons, except the Master Sword, break, so we will always have to be looking for and collecting weapons. As we use them, they will turn red before breaking and they will warn us that they are about to break. Enemy camps and especially Shrines are good places to find good weapons. It is also important to expand our saddlebag to be able to carry more weapons of each type, bows and arrows, since otherwise we will continually have to throw away weapons, to improve the saddlebag and have more spaces. we must talk to Obab and give him Kolog seeds.

The Weapons are divided into 3 categories:

One-handed weapons: These types of weapons allow us to use a shield simultaneously, so the possibility of using the shield is always a detail to take into account.

Two-handed weapons: Their main advantage lies in the damage they do, but they are slower and since they are two-handed we cannot use the shield. If we have weapons equipped but not drawn, we can use the shield, this information can come in handy when faced with attacks that take us by surprise.

Spears: These weapons are very fast, they allow us to keep the enemy at a distance thanks to their length and they do not allow us to use a shield, just like the two-handed ones if we carry them sheathed if we can use it, despite having less damage it is always advisable to carry a spear on hand , for example, they come in handy against all flying enemies.

The damage is represented by a number in the lower right corner, the higher this value the more damage the weapon will cause, we can also find weapons that have elemental damage like fire, they set enemies on fire and instantly kill ice-type enemies,  of ice, which freeze enemies for a few moments in which we do triple damage, and which are lethal against enemies with fire, AND weapons electrical, which electrocute and stun enemies, releasing the metallic equipment they are equipped with.

You also have to take into account certain parameters, apart from damage and durability, the list shows its launch distance, thrown weapons double their damage, and when we do sneak attacks, this is approaching in stealth and attacking the enemies. gives x8 bonus to damage

We leave you with all the weapons that we can find in Zelda Breath of the Wild and where they are obtained, those that are obtained in main or secondary missions are highlighted in bold.

Zelda Breath of the Wild - Dragon Boko Bow

Bows are one of the most useful weapons in the game since they allow us to attack from a distance and we need them to solve many of the puzzles that we find in the Sanctuaries, for example we can destroy explosive barrels with fire arrows, we will have to cut ropes with arrows, the normal arrows can be brought closer to the fire to make them of fire etc.

Bow shooting is affected by gravity so depending on its range we will have to aim a little higher or much higher depending on the distance, at short distances they are not affected, direct shots to the head cause critical hits that will kill the weakest enemies.

If we focus on an enemy, the most normal thing is that the shots with the bow always hit, although there is a small margin of error depending on the movements of the enemies. Riding a horse we can jump off it and aim the bow in the air to perform a short bullet time that will allow us to make critical hits.

Apart from the other characteristics of weapons, bows can have 2 extra bonuses:

Multiple Arrows – Indicates the number of arrows we shoot at a time, although we only spend one, those who have this bonus can improve them with the 5 arrows in a fan bonus, which is the maximum.

Quick Shot – Bows that have this bonus shoot faster than others.

Arrows

Zelda Breath of the Wild - Electric Arrows

Arrows are a resource that we must always be aware of, we find them in boxes in posts, in chests in enemy camps, in enemies that are equipped with Bows and in shops in villages and posts, it is important to always have a good supply of arrows since we need them for quite a few things.

These are all types of arrows that we can find in the game.

wooden arrow

The arrows that we will usually use, if we bring them close to the fire we will turn them into fire arrows.

Fire arrow

With these arrows we set fire to the enemies and also to certain elements of the settings, such as grass or explosive barrels, some sanctuaries are surrounded by thorns with the fire arrows we will burn them quickly. Against enemies from frozen areas they are the best weapon.

ice arrow

With these arrows we can freeze enemies, they are very effective against fire enemies. An important detail about these arrows is that when we use them for hunting, the resulting meat is frozen.

electric arrow

With these arrows we can electrocute enemies and paralyze them for a time, allowing us to carry out several attacks. Enemies who carry metal equipment such as shields or swords will fall to the ground (the same applies to us, equipped weapons and shields will fall to the ground if they hit us with electric attacks. ).

bomb arrow

These arrows create a large explosion, so it is advisable to save them to face sub-bosses, in the small Bokoblin camps they can cause havoc.

ancient arrow

Very powerful arrows, especially effective against guardians since they reduce 1/3 of their health points. If you shoot them at a normal enemy, we will kill them directly. They can be built in the Akkala laboratory.

Arrow of Light (Twilight Arc)

These arrows are only used by a special bow that we unlock with an amiibo figure.

Arrow of light (bow of light)

Like the bow, we can only use these arrows in the final confrontation of the game.
