How to clean leather furniture

Leather furniture is very common in many room designs, but it requires a little more care than fabric furniture.

Have a leather furniture it's not nothing simple, you will have to dust it regularly, vacuum the cracks and clean up spills of liquids immediately. Before cleaning it, it is good to consult the manufacturer label for specific instructions and never use chemicals that are not special for leather. We also don't have to put it near:

  • Air conditioners.
  • Heat sources.
  • Direct sunlight.

Using a leather conditioner regularly to keep it as good as the first day may be advisable, and if it is out of use, cover it with plastic.

Do this to your leather seats and they will never crack!!

How should I clean them?

The first thing we have to do is use a microfiber cloth totally clean and dry. It would be best to do it almost every week, prevent dust from accumulating It's the best we can do. Yes there are dust resistant we will have to moisten the cloth with distilled water, but without soaking the cloth.

For cracks we can use a vaccum cleaner, this will remove the accumulated dirt quickly. It is advisable to use an accessory with soft bristle brush, and also remove the cushions if possible.

If we prevent dust from accumulating between the cushions, we will not have stubborn or difficult to remove dust.

How do I clean up spilled liquid?

Cleaning up the spilled liquid is very simple, and even more so if we do it immediately with a dry cloth. Use the as little water as possible to clean the spill, and then blot very carefully.

You should not clean it, as that will spread it, simply dry it with a dry cloth that absorbs the spill. If the spill is not water you will need to use soft soap and warm water

It is also good to use cleaners designed specifically for leatherIt is advisable to always have it at home, we never know when a stain may appear, and ammonia or bleach can damage the leather.

Leather cannot be cleaned with other products, or it will end up cracking.
