Unlimited Safari Zone.
In the old Pokémon games, they couldn't add a timer, so they just counted your steps. If you don't move in the safari zone and simply stay fishing, you can have unlimited time.
Glitch Island.
Go to safari, save the game and turn off the GameBoy. Turn it on and save again, go to the safari, then the guard won't say anything. Go outside to Fuchsia City, but before you leave the guard says: Welcome to the Safari Zone. After that, tell him you don't want to enter, leave the safari and fly to Isla Canela.
